12 guage flares

12 guage flares
need for information on caliber M1 carbine made by Springfield Armory?

My wife bought an M1 carbine from a friend. I tried 30.06 load a round in it, but the camera all the way usual. in Barrell. Is there a difference between around 30-06 and one 308? round the 30-06 seems to be too long. there is no blockage in the barrel – you can also use a person with a 12 gauge shotgun to fire signal flares of the same size or do I buy 1 of those expensive guns shoot? Thanks for your help

Husband Bound here: It seems we have a major case of confusion here! With respect to the rifles and cartridges, at least focused on American military rifles and ammunition, but is a bit confusing! M1 rifle, called the Garand, M1 triggers the 30 rounds, also known as the .30 – '06. The M1 Garand GI was manufactured by Springfield Armory (military installation), International Harvester, Winchester, Harrington & Richardson. The M14 rifle (version called civil M1A), fires the 7.62mm round of Nato, also known as the .308 Winchester. The M14 was manufactured by Winchester and TRW. The commercial M1A is manufactured by Springfield Armory (manufacturer civil). M1 Carbine, fires the .30 M1 Carbine round, also known as the Carbine .30. The military version of the M1 carbine have been made by: Saginaw Steering, Rock-Ola, Inland Machine, Union Switch & Signal, Winchester, quality, and some manufacturers. The civilian versions have been made M1 Carbine by: Plainfield Machine, Iver Johnson, Universal, and I think Thompson Auto Ordinance, maybe even more. If your wife bought an M1 carbine, I seriously doubt that was made by Springfield Armory. I know of Springfield Armory (military or civilian) have done the carbine. A good indicator would be to look at the charger pouch. If the magazine is 2 "long (from front to back) has an M1 carbine that fires the .30 carbine cartridge. If the charger pouch is 3.25" long (from front to back) you have a M1A, and fired the .308 Winchester cartridge. The .30-06 is about 1 / 2 "longer than the 308 and would be disastrous for a 308 shot. You can get 12 ga. flares to be fired in a 12 ga. shotgun. However, signal flares to find in the supply centers of most sailors are designed to be fed into a flare gun … There is an important difference! Good luck!
