Which companies make one wire 24v alternators, and what is the part #’s, that fit a Westerbeke 4-107 engine?
I am trying to upgrade the dead 24 volt alternator on my 1978 Westerbeke 4-107 marine engine?
Going at this problem another way: I am told that the 12 volt Chevrolet alternator #7127 will work, but I would have to convert to a 12 volt system, changing the starter, bilge pump and other things. What would be the 24 volt equivilant of the Chevy 12 volt alternator #7127?
Nearly any alternator rebuild shop should be able to convert your current alternator. A one wire chevy should be convertible with a with an external voltage regulator.
We had one adapted for use on an ambulance. I believe it was made by Redline.
