What is a Class D fire extinguisher?
I know class A is for wood fires, Class B of gasoline and grease fire, and the class C for electrical fires. But what does a Class D fire extinguisher to do? Please help I got a test tomorrow on this matter. Also I know that a class ABC extinguisher can be used for all 3 different types of fire, so it is true that the class D can be used for all types of fires? Or There is a specific type?
D is for combustible metals. These are very difficult to extinguish, once started, and may emit toxic fumes. A "D" rating does not tell whether the fire extinguisher can also be used in class A, B, C or fire, and only the presence of the other symbols that tell you.
