What is the best way to reach Catalina Island from Newport, and how long they take to arrive?
New to Boating and fan fishing. I have a 17.5 open bow with a Johnson 130 hp what are my chances of surviving a trip to Catalina Island fishinig? Leaving Puerto Nuevo, San Pedro or Long Beach. I installed a marine radio, compass, handheld GPS also. Thanks for any info.
Yes phones, cell work almost all the way across the island. Check your GPS coordinates, and watch the weather forecast for your trip – that there is nothing cowardly blowing, etc. I have a friend who is about in his small boat with his wife. Not a problem.
