bilge pump replacement…?
hi, our bilge pump stopped working. we have a 2002 bayliner capri 1804. is this something major & expensive to have repaired? is this something we should be able to do ourselves? yes i already know bayliners suck. thanks!
First check to see if clogged,you do this by twisting counter clock wise on top of bilge pump if it isn’t clogged just go to wal mart to buy a replacement you will have a few choices in size (gallons per hour) I bought the 750 series and am quite happy with it. These units cost apx $18-25 bucks.
You may also want to check the switch this can be done with the help on another person and a continuity tester unhook the wires from the pump hook up the tester and have someone else flip the switch. If the switch works then replace the pump.
