Some questions about fish finders readings?
Hi, I recently bought the Garmin 400c fishfinder. I have some questions about how to translate readings. The manual has no answers to my questions below. 1. Is there a way to understand the direction the fish swarm? 2. Say I'm in a fixed position and if I'm on top of a school of fish the way that would translate on screen? This is shown as a timeline because the screen updates from right to left 3. What I can tell the difference between a fish and the object in the background? 4. there is a website / book / DVD that shows in detail on how to translate readings? Thanks
I'm not familiar with the Garmin 400, but the principle is the same with all probes. 1.Fish (apparently) face a body uptide water that moves downtide. (Knowing the flow of the tides in your area) 2.Yes 3.many sirens have a function called white (or gray) and the bottom line to help block to differentiate between objects on the seabed and fish with IT.4. Not that I know.
