Use of radar as a Fish Finder
Its no big secret that if you want fish you need to know how to find them. One of the quickest ways fish detection is to locate the birds – the masterminds undeniable fish finding technology. What is a closely guarded secret is like going on the orientation of these birds through the use of radar, an instrument normally reserved for collision avoidance. This month we will remove some of the mystery surrounding the subject.
At first glance, a radar image seems to be just a mass of bubbles. The general forms of costs are usually easy to distinguish, but some of the details, along with ships, boats and buoys are more difficult to identify. To understand what the radar is seeing, we must recognize that no radar image A map is a diagram showing the distance and the delay of the echoes. Radar works as a probe that transmits short pulses of energy and listening to the echoes produced when pulses reflected from something on your way. Of course, there are significant differences between radar and echo sounder. One is that the radar pulse beam sweeps across the horizon as the beam of a lighthouse, instead of sending them all down. Another is that it uses sound waves of super high frequency – microwave – rather than sound waves.
Its beamwidth radars will play an important role in its ability to effectively track-eating birds. Remember, the narrower the beam width, target discrimination the more you get. As the length of the antenna radiator increases the beam width becomes narrower, so a larger antenna will always provide a better identification target. For this reason, dome antennas are not efficient in monitoring birds as a comparable open array antenna.
There is simply no substitute for experience and practice when it comes to become a radar operator experts, however, you need to get started with the basics. For best results it is best to practice these techniques on a clear day with calm seas. It is easier to first visually locating a flock of birds that want to target.
Bird orientation
To begin orientation of birds, set your radar to a medium or long range. Then increase the gain control until the noise on the screen. This will appear as a blanket of tiny specks. Have to leave the gain turned all the way up, establishing maximum receiver sensitivity to detect birds. Resist the temptation to convert alternating current / sea or AC / Rain to leave the noise. Flocks of birds can be seen noise as dense, recurrent rather than a solid target, but should be able to see clearly. This is what you are looking for when they have a visual indication of where they feed birds.
If the radar is capable of operating in real motion, select this option. You will be the stabilization of the screen, and be able to tell whether herd moves in a straight line in search of pods of bait or if you have found the target school and feeding are.
When operating in Head Up or True Motion, be sure to activate its target path and put in long trails to help ride herd on the ground.
