Carbon dioxide is always a product of combustion never a reagent. Adding CO2 in a fire or explosion only each eliminate the reaction, the promotion of (the principle of Le Chatelier). The only "explosion" that will with the pressure of CO2 is based on (release of gas under pressure), not chemically based.
