Why is a carbon dioxide extinguisher fire the best for use on electrical fires?
I have 2 questions. the other is: Why would be dangerous to use water on electrical fires? chemistry! I need help!
Sigh … more task: I use water on fires power is quite obvious. Water is a conductor of electricity, adding that it causes to be electrocuted as well or cause a short circuit and the water is not really very effective against putting out fires because smoke would then then are more likely to kill you than you burn to death. You must remember that fire triangle. You need Fuel – Power – Oxygen Each of these are important in a fire to continue burning. Using carbon dioxide fire extinguishers effectively suppress fires on the fire of oxygen in a liquid form of CO2. It is not safe to use on another person. We must also take into account the 3 types of extinguishers A – is for fire that are paper and wood. B-electrical fires. C-chemical fires (auto-oxidant fires) normally found in laboratories. Type A contains water. I do not know the chemistry behind C.
