What would a reduction in the Earth's magnetic field affects the function of Equipmen?
I've heard, (do not remember where), that Earth's natural magnetic field is slowly decreasing. I also heard that solar flares can disrupt electrical equipment / Electronic. Do any of these natural phenomena affect the performance of electronics / electrical equipment? Please briefly answer each query, and provide links if possible.
The Earth's magnetic field is only a problem with the things that measure or otherwise require the presence of the field, specifically the compasses, just that, only the magnetic compass. Using the most modern navigation equipment gyrocompasses, which measure the rotation axis of the Earth and Therefore, I do not care if there is a magnetic field. If the magnetic field were to disappear tomorrow, only the magnetic compass and some geologists would affected. Electromagnetic energy particles or vomiting and may everthing affect electronics, satellite, radio and television, computers, depending on the strength of the flare.
