I want to buy fire extinguishers. What do I need?
One for the kitchen and BBQ deck off the kitchen. A reception in the room where wood stove. Do I need one for laundry (electric oven)? A gas fireplace lounge, where he is? Any risk of fire by the heat pump or a water filter system (we are on well water)
I am a retired firefighter and fire protection engineer, and not have a fire extinguisher in the house. Than I have garden hoses to reach any point of the house. Baking soda will take care of that. Hoses get me out of the house, where they will safe. I come back and attack the fire from a safe distance. My photoelectric smoke alarms me tell you plenty of time to leave the house. Photoelectric are much better than ionization type fire in the home. If you buy a fire extinguisher or two, mount away from a likely source of fire, so you can access them.
