Electrical Question 12 V battery and fish finder?
What size fuse is required when hooking my fish finder the battery on my boat. From the deep cycle. I'm thinking 2 amp fuse but I'm not 100% sure. Thanking you in advance for your answer
2 amps is probably safe enough, unless the screen uses a lot of lights, and the transmitter is very strong. Power requirements are typically appears in the back of the casing of the screen, and indicate the required size fuse. 2 amps really is not much power, may have to use a 5 amp to prevent the fuse is broken under normal conditions. The unit will always draw what they want from the battery, fuses only sets the upper limit of the current, not on any strength more power to the unit.
