pls clearify me about float switch and float valve for water tanks?
my question still remains unanswered… pls someone help me understand what is a float switch and how exactly it works in combination with float valve for underground and overhead water tanks and pump. also can someone suggest me any web site where i can find schematic diagrams for this. thanks
A float switch is an electrical switch that is triggered by a change in water level. For example if the level dropped the float switch might turn on a pump to refill a tank. A float switch could also be used as an overflow indication at the top of a water tower. When the water level rose too high then closing that float switch could turn on an electrical alarm to annunciate the problem (or even interlock the pump starter to keep it from pumping more water into the tank).
A float valve is a mechanical valve that is put into a water pipe to turn on the water flow when the water level drops. For example a lot of water troughs for animal drinking keep the trough filled with a valve like that since it uses water pressure and not any electrical devices to add water.
