However, no matter how promising scuba diving is because of the experience that it can give us, it is still an undeniable fact that it’s dangerous and proper gears and precautions have to be observed before actually doing it. In scuba diving, the lack of oxygen underwater would be the diver’s first enemy and could be the worst. When that happens, the diver could barely make it to the surface and eventually dies underwater and people have come to realize this. Thus, the need for air pump has become a protocol in scuba diving. What is an air pump and why is it necessary? The need for air pump in scuba diving is a device that looks like small tank which is filled with air to supply the diver enough oxygen that he needs underwater. This need for such gear was discovered in 1650 and known to be the breathing companion of scuba divers. Over the years, this gear has evolved and can now give divers better experience that before. Besides, the amount of air filled in the tank has increased. This air pump is used by attaching a mouthpiece to the diver which is connected to the tank filled with compressed air. Through this mouthpiece, the diver can breathe in and out without affecting the body as he swims. The air that the diver breathes is actually fresh air supporting the need for oxygen of the body. This has become the primary gear in scuba diving. Of course, there are other gears needed in scuba diving and these would include the diving suit and other gears to protect the body from external harm when descending the deep ocean. Knowing how to use these gears wouldn’t be a problem because before you a person can actually go scuba diving, he has to undergo training and scuba diving lessons. And not only that, he has to get a scuba diving license before descending underwater. These things may be hard but the experience that you can get is worth it. Some people even pursue their dreams of becoming a professional because of the promising benefits that they can get when scuba diving.
