How I can make an antenna?
I have a bank of several former band opperated raido / tv / raido pb.marine with a tuner dial. Bought years ago for 20.00 …. I recently found that unfortunately the antenna (type plastic equipment) and the antenna "socket" have doubled. I would to play with this little radio. I would like to build a better antenna.
a simple antenna, try to get two pieces of copper wire, welding of each side a piece of coaxial cable in the middel to form a crude dipole, the usual case for receiving purposes., and connect the other end of a copper wire kind of support that is pulled, and is horzintal, with the coaxial cable hanging in the middle. Connect the other end of coaxial cable to the radio. the shield of coaxial cable should be to land on the radio. for those frequencies, I would suggest two meters of copper each side of the coaxial cable, so the diploe would be 4 feet long. coaxial cable can be any length. There is a basic formula to find the full wavelength in meters (half that for a dipole) 300 divided by the freq in MHZ = Full wavelength in meters. for if I wanted to make a 145MHz dipole would need 2 m of copper, and it is also necessary to reduce by half to form each half of dipole.
