I'm working on a science fiction. All frames have to rely on a cycle – Ideally a cycle or pattern of about 300 years, plus or minus a few decades. All ideas or links (ie, climate and weather, tectonic / geological and marine environmental / biological) will be greatly appreciated, especially astrological events (Ie, planetary alignments, solar flares, galactic alignments – if there is such a thing). A very good question. I come from a background of physics, and all I can think of is the orbital period of Pluto (which used to be the ninth planet in the solar system) where it takes years of 248.09 to rotate around the sun. Hope that helps.
