I'm hearing that many people are beginning to use marine band radios off road. ?
Instead of your card. This is what reading Messaging instantaneous, but the change comes because the radio has a third less power and does not get the range that a marine radio that legally it is. Im hearing that the marine next best thing to a ham radio you need a license to operate. They also say the amendment of a CB is to improve the range please correct if illegal.So im reading that is incorrect.
I have heard or seen, while outside the road. A CB power transmission is limited by the FCC to 4 watts total, without the need for a license. Handheld FRS radios are limited to 1 / 2 watt and do not require a license. Any radio that has a transmission power of more of 5 watts or works on the frequencies reserved for GMRS, Marine or Ham (Single Sideband) use of the operator is required to have an FCC license issued operator. (This license currently costs $ 85) failure to obtain the license before using the radio may lead to heavy fines if caught. (The license is required to be with the radio when the use and application of the law can ask to see it) is right that the modification of a CB radio transmits at a higher level than 4 watts is illegal.
