What is the best record in the marine VHF handheld?
My rowing team are looking to buy marine radios for our coaches. Our coaches along with our storage unit rowing in small boats with motors, and want marine VHF handheld radios, to communicate with each other vessels and other of our practices. Can you tell me about the reliability of different brands of marine radio? I'm currently looking at ICOM, Standard Horizon, Cobra, and Uniden. Our price range is $ 200 or less on the radio. Are any of these brands is particularly known for the quality / durability? I do not know much about marine radios, so any information you can give me would be great!
Bring a unit in our boat waterproof and floats, and we love it! For use to we are talking about does not need anything that has any kind of range with the signal as most communications will be near nature. All the 3 you mention are good radios and will suffice for what you're looking for. Great thing for the team to get to them too!
