It's nice, but for the lakes you might want to look at the Lowrance LMS 522C. It has many more useful functions. http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/Full-Size-SonarGPS-Chartplotter-Combos/LMS-522C-iGPS/ BassPro.com has them for $ 649
