How crazy is called an astronaut? – - One Astronut.
What follows is a version almost verbatim from my book online © 1986 WEIRD Eschatology: An Alternative View of the Second Coming (ISBN 0-9616435-0-1, Library of Congress Call Number BT823.M55 1986). Upon completion of this, one can conclude that this particular, peculiar interpretation of the Book of Revelation should be relegated to the teachings of the self-cranks, crackpots, prophets of doom and several other fans varied. But perhaps, even so, his own point of view may be clarified when you read this. The first chapter deals with theology and can be a bit boring, but fasten seatbelts, as I will get more and more rare ahead (in terms of any interpretation that you've seen before). Note that I use of mostly unattainable and dark movies. Lack of access to these sources should not prevent the understanding of what follows. Moreover, emphasis on the issues apparently transcendental'm trying here, capitalize sentences subject to discuss.
CHAPTER ONE
TIMETABLE PLAUSIBLE
Is you a Christian? Do you believe in the Second Coming at a future date? Is it legitimate for the construction of timetables for these future events?
Questions Rhetorical how are you right off the bat, so you can flip down. A major difficulty is that there is no consensus as to when and in what sequence these predicted events should take place. This subject has always been a particular source of schism and controversy. I will propose specific dates as many in every generation before me. And as many have been before me, can be refuted by the mere passage of time.
The majority opinion adopted by the majority of evangelicals is premillennalism pretribulational, which only partially agree. I note that part of this vision is in fact based on a historical novelty that only traces date back to nineteenth century. What I mean here is that in terms of the slow glacial movement of theology (remember that the canon was finalized about two thousand years ago) the majority view is a relatively recent innovation.
I prefer clearly a minority position, to be called multiple postmillennialism abduction. The milleniarist position argues that many of the predictions made in the New Testament, including the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21), were carried out in the Christian era, and its past performance limit of future events is expected. There is a school, represented by, for example, Max King and Timothy James, argues that every prophecy of the entire New Testament took place during the era of the early Church. However, I believe that this view ignores due consideration the Book of Revelation.
Postmillennialism sometimes also known as Preterism, which means that the text is allowed to speak without exegesis. So when Jesus repeatedly predicted the Kingdom within a generation, not cancel the statement as a mistake or an excess of enthusiasm. Instead, develop a timetable that shows the United beginning of a generation after the Crucifixion. So when John of Patmos, says the Millennium begins on the date of commencement of the Kingdom, due to my letter I'll (end of this chapter) and set a thousand year clock ticking. It was not really a specific date for a generation after the crucifixion – the key date 70 AD. This was the historic date of the fall of Jerusalem, which is not a particularly important date in the more general discussions. This is the date of first resurrection, in the terminology of John of Patmos, which begins the Millennium.
What happened in 70? After a long siege by the Roman legions, Jerusalem was sacked and razed. To the secular eye, as described by Josephus in the Jewish War in gory detail, the scene was one of mass destruction in that even saved the temple. But in the spiritual sense, as parousia Russell proved more than a century ago, these events were the fulfillment of the Olivet Discourse and the return of Jesus and his conquering armies in the clouds to inaugurate the spiritual reign of the saints and martyrs. Other sources cited in the bibliography PARADISE RESTORED Chilton defend this view. Chilton designated Jerusalem as the Whore of Babylon and Rome as the Beast. (Note added 2006: I went in my 1986 calendar Chilton. I have since reversed my opinion. Now I see of Rome and Jerusalem as the harlot and the beast).
I have to stop for a moment to consider the issue of date of the book of Revelation. The currently accepted date of publication of the book of Revelation is AD 95. If this is the correct date, compliance with the predictions made so far merely a matter of hindsight. I recommend John AT Robinson 's review of this issue REDATING THE NEW TESTAMENT. Robinson cites evidence both internal and externally to move the date of the Book of Revelation back to the AD 70 period. Furthermore, the standard is plotted AD 95 to see again a single source. This source Irenaeus is a statement that the Apocalypse first appeared "toward the end of Domitian's reign." This statement is ambiguous and may even be simply erroneous. Other sources cited in the literature (including Chilton and James) to accept an earlier date.
The Book of Revelation represents a significant expansion of earlier gospels and epistles. Here the Millennium concept is introduced first and only time. The timetable presented by John of Patmos extends forward to the future day trial and the establishment of the New Jerusalem, thus completing the New Testament canon.
As for the Millennium period, which lasted approximately from 70 AD to 1070 AD, the starting point was the spiritual event, the parousia, as detailed by Russell and Chilton. But secular historians looking back in this period as a whole have named as the Middle Ages. More recently, the verdict was tempered by the demonstration of the evolution and technical progress that occurred in the Middle and Far East during these years. But the fact remains that Western civilization, particularly Western Europe for these years, were times of unprecedented barbarism, and ignorance. During this time of the blood of countless martyrs belatedly spilled into laying down the Roman Empire and the establishment of the Church. Violence was the order of the day and sweeten or pink are unnecessary. The first resurrection was an event of mass destruction and the Kingdom or Millennium was a time of barbarism. In other words, there is an accident or coincidence that the fulfillment of the prophecies was apocalyptic. However, there is a important principle to remember here, as I will point out that the day of reckoning will also be mass destruction and the New Jerusalem to appear to follow eyes are again on secular barbarism. I will take up these thoughts again in later chapters.
Why not start the day of trial of the AD1070 End of the Millennium? Historically, many of the people living then wait to see the return of the Messiah. Answer: for this was the date on which Satan was independent of their season. Here I part company with the many of the sources mentioned in the bibliography. They prefer to see the Millennium as a potentially indefinite period extending thousands of years Satan unleashed by his only season shortly before the Second Coming. They see the Church still in the expansion and consolidation Millennium of their profits will ultimately make the whole world, immediately prior to arrival. Turning On the contrary, I hold that John of Patmos really meant a period time of about a thousand years, Satan has been sowing in their evil work. I have to admit that the season has lasted almost a thousand years in their own right. A consolation is that this long period of time finally about to come to an end. Satan has been busy since my point of view during the last centuries. Examples of his work be infamous events such as the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Counter Reformation, the Inquisition, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution down to the contemporary horrible mass movements. It could be accused of being a feudal or obscurantist here. However, I do not look back to the United forward so as to approach the New Jerusalem. At this point in time I believe we are reaching the lowest point of the curve of descent into hell, just before the return of the Messiah.
Therefore, I teach hellfire and damnation, as do most right-wing evangelicals who hold the premillennial view. But as I said, the postmillennialists literature, which are also uniformly conservative for the most part, the place much less emphasis on this aspect.
I also agree premillennialists in connection with the abduction. Historically, for eighteen centuries, the abduction was taken essentially simultaneously with the Advent. This is detailed, among others, MacPherson in RAPTURE OF THE GREAT FRAUD and Kimball in the rapture: a matter of time. MacPherson, shows that the nineteenth century Scotch seer named Margaret MacDonald in 1830 introduced the Rapture pretribulational – a temporary separation of a secret rapture of the Second Coming. This introduction was a theological novelty or innovation. MacPherson traces the concept of introduction through the nineteenth century figures, Darby and Scofield to the electron current evangelists today. I've said that I accept the opinion of several Rapture, a pre-trib Rapture variation. I agree, based on the work of my sources that this view has its origin only in the nineteenth century the century. I'll explain why I have seen in the last part of chapter three.
I should note that, due to adopt a preterist perspective, put less emphasis on watching the events the first resurrection occurred with double the Day of Reckoning. For example, Nero was clearly the Antichrist for the year 70, but not necessarily expect to see a new Antichrist before the Second Coming. If forced to, you can choose between many candidates for this position twentieth century. Similarly, do not expect to see upcoming events in Jerusalem present moment. My prediction is in chapter four is more likely to begin in one of the advanced Western nations.
Beginning with the next chapter, I will use seemingly incongruous sources such as sources of the sixties left. I will delve into the film and media in general. These sources will be relevant to the topics of this chapter. So far I have described a plausible view, but not mainstream Christian eschatology. From from this point forward, as promised, expect the view presented as 'weird'.
CHAPTER TWO
BROWN A First Look at Norman O.
It is a tale

There is a good chance who have never heard of Norman O. Brown or come across any of his writings. His books are now a generation ago, partly out of print. Perhaps some of the issues raised have become irrelevant with the passage of time.
I think when his books came out Brown was originally taken as a mere sexual radical. I say just here in the sense that Brown would not be discussed if I felt it was only what was. A superficial reading of his cryptic style, aphoristic indeed give that impression. However, the real subject of two books, Love's Body (1966) and Closing Time (1973) was religion. Of the two books, Closing Time is currently out of print, but necessary to obtain a full picture. With these two books by Brown really solve the mysteries of religion. I am here to say that if you understand these books have all your questions about religion? Yes, that's exactly what I am saying. Brown scored all the way to the inner sanctum. If you are able to solve the puzzle of Brown, who at the same time will solve the mysteries of religion. I say this fully aware that Brown's scholarship makes this a monumental task.
If I've whetted your appetite, and decides to take a look at Brown, the best approach might be to look to other sources as preliminary. It's all there, at Brown in plain English, you understand, but you may have more success in the circles of the periphery. A good source to print from the same period of time Eric Gutkind is of God's body: FIRST STEPS TOWARDS AN ANTI-theology. This book is also written in an aphoristic style. Comparing the title of this book Love's Body will give you a key to start on the path to the solution of Brown. Looking from the philosophical standpoint, Michael Harrington AUDREY'S POLICY GOD astutely asks all the right questions. The best book ever written on Jesus Christ, our Constantin Brunner: The Revolt of the Mystical Genius (1921). Here's an interesting phrase from the book: "You have to hang up, the blasphemer of God and slander the noblest men, the stupid malicious poor, miserable incorrigble, the son of a bitch and whore dealer, the swindler, the liar, the secucer. "The so-called radical Freudians, in general such as Marcuse, Reich and Roheim addition to Brown, are relevant.
No place for an exegesis of Brown. Instead I will outline a central idea – the significance of the primal scene. For the uninitiated, the primal scene is what mom and dad not the bedroom. Now, even the disciples of Freud had trouble seeing the importance of the Oedipal and repeatedly tried Primal Scene to revise their master. Perhaps the best way to get an ink of their importance is the creation of a confrontation between the Joker (the small 'castrated' clown played by Brown) and you. Get in the next scene like a man:
You're standing outside the big city, modern, home as the Joker approaches.
The Joker begins, "You know, strange, I've been doing a lot of trips lately and have seen several cities, including this one. I must say that I do not like what I've been watching at all. In each city residents develop using locks on their doors and seen to be afraid to go out on its sidewalks at night. One minute they use their bodies as objects of pleasure, and the next to sue each other at the slightest provocation. I see the noise, confusion, chaos and worse with every lap. I can not think about something that happened in Sodom that has not happened here many times. Tell me, when you came here was the city the same as now? "
You replies, "More or less was, in fact."
The Joker says, "This city is a tough place to try to make a living in life is so hectic, it is a constant rush and DIN, sometimes I think I'm trapped in a nightmare and wakes up at any time. This is no place to try to raise a family or to raise a child. No no place for kids to play here. You know, although I have had many opportunities to unzip his pants and pull out my gun here, I have not felt good about it until now decided to keep the zipper of my pants. But I see the ring on the finger that the situation here does not seem to stop it. You had the same opportunity, then all, to look around and see what was happening. But I see that no matter what you saw, they were not willing to stay away. He had to have it. I admit I am only a silly. But I wonder – Who is the best man? "

The Joker ignores this and stops a moment to explore the distant horizon. Then, pointing his finger into the tallest skyscraper, rising in the mist – a source of civic pride to inform all residents (a phallic symbol and undisputed). The Joker turns and asks: "How? – That the creation of there – tell me how modern tower of Babel was built? No, let me answer the question. It was built by men who at one time or another unzipped his pants. Not that one of them was forced to understand. It is after all a voluntary act. Now I ask you to consider me for a moment what would have happened if one of these men, had unbuttoned his pants on all – not even once. How much of what you see here now still be here? I will answer – not a little of that here, including the building just noted. I've been wondering these days why endure the perpetual nightmares here that we will get through these massive monuments built. If we get all the women in control, who sit around all day and drink beer and play cards. "
You responded: "Leave a slacker never-do-well – "
The Joker interrupts, "What we really need here is a King – the absolute dumbest member may find larger. I think we may agree that I am the perfect candidate for this job because I absolutely anything else. "
The glow from each pair the other, ready to fight.
Let me make the important point of this story that the "you" dialogue may well be the father of the Joker as any other – not a single line of the above would have to be changed. (The original story of Oedipus join his father at the crossroads, the couple had separated and was not a disguise and did not seem to recognize the other, at least consciously.) If the "one" of the narrative is in fact the father of the Joker, the Joker then literally son of a gun. This also would make the Joker in his mother's side, literally a son of a bitch
In the dialogue that took place in the Temptation of Christ (Matthew 4:1-11, Mk. 2:13, Luke 4:1-13), Jesus rejected Satan's offer of the kingdoms of this world. Brown says we are in fact, Satan kingdom, ie the hell, especially in large cities. Jesus will one day take dominion over the kingdoms of the earth, but only on the Day of Reckoning, when their enemies became in stools. When He returns, He will bring the keys to hell and death. This implies that a massive restructuring of urban life today – our man Hell – Start here.
To change the subject, if you have an interest in James Joyce, you must examine the statements of Brown has accumulated in closing time. Joyce imitates (or really is himself) the insane. The Wake is from beginning to end nothing but the gibberings of a madman. Finnegans Wake is a Rorschach test of text, and I mean that in its voluminous pages, any phrase you are looking for before you open the book will probably be found. But all extracts Brown has assembled a whole show of conclusively that religion cracked "Joyce", ie that all responses were established in the wake. In other words, Joyce Brown shows that previous pioneered the same way in which Brown found. I do not want to go beyond fair use, and start quoting the text, so I'll stop.

"Whom the gods wish to destroy First Back crazy, "I will ask some questions about this list to clarify it. At first glance, looking over this by no means exhaustive, it seems that we must leave our umbrella (or perhaps a degree in meteorology). The first question is: How many of those phrases you ever seen before? Try to think that if anywhere, any of these statements can be found. After thinking it over, decide that some appear in the literature, some may be from the Bible, but many of them come of the media.
The next question about the list would be: by grouping all these phrases together like I did, I did what I intended imply that every sentence is identical or synonymous with every other sentence in the list? No, they are interchangeable in a few cases, but are interrelated. So phrases have in common? My answer is that everyone has a direct relationship with one sentence:
MASS PSYCHOSIS
This phrase in particular, mass psychosis, most likely you've encountered. The mass psychosis is the real meaning of the fundamentalist doctrine of the secret rapture.
Now I'm sure if one had the opportunity to interview rock stars Prince and ask what he meant to Purple Rain that it's not the answer "a codeword for psychosis mass. "Similarly, Bob Dylan does not feel inclined to say:" When I sang about Idiot Wind, I was referring to mass psychosis. "Instead expect complicated explanations involving literary metaphors, etc., if I have received no response at all.
In fact I have already mentioned that the Prince deliberately a controversy over its "explicit" lyrics of his songs when he left. I note that his critics had nothing to say about the other dimension of their songs I'm saying here – Doomsday in 1999, etc.
Here I leave the discussion of the list and return at the end of this chapter with more comments. Let me return briefly to the general topic of the media. For the media I mean all the channels through which paid entertainment reaches us – cinema, radio, television, etc. Because television has a voracious appetite, you will use the term media and television, more or less interchangeably. Think about how the TV, to cover every hour, swallows the output of other media, from films to plays music rock, even as music videos. Some of us are on record in nearly a third of our lives stuck out games nowadays. As a baby boomer, dentate me on TV and had a dominant influence for granted. But after decades of exposure we have had, I think it is time to begin serious consideration of the media. Their influence is probably much higher than today's literary sources.
Already in the sixties we had McLuhan's maxim that the medium is the message. The idea is that content is not particularly important, but the existence and ubiquity of the medium itself is the most significant.
Let me see media criticism in terms of increasing the level of depth. At the lowest level, most abysmal, one sees the media as providing entertainment harmless. But the billions of dollars that poured into the media show that much is happening. A little better is the extreme right view Gospel of television and movies are the devil's picture book and rock music is the devil's music. This approach has the virtue of being correct, but has fallen on increasingly hard times like everyone but the fans have capitulated and joined the cacophony of the media themselves. Huge time blocks radio and cable networks are all involved in the sale of Jesus, sandwiched between ads for soap and used cars.
A little more discrimination is the idea that television is a boob tube and rock music is subversive of garbage, and exposure to one or both can permanently warp your brain. It is the goal latter to produce a race of mindless, godless zombie giants return (the "men of renown" of Genesis, as described by Brown in the end)?
What we do keeps us hypnotized by the flickering images hour after hour? Why couch potatoes so many of us – practically frozen into stone? What are we really seeing? The response of Norman O. Brown is we're seeing the Primal Scene Oedipus night after night staged in endless repetition, with slight variations. You object, "I beg your pardon. I saw a Game Show followed by a sitcom last night." What we are really doing is paying the artists to put on the only program that we want to see.
Finally, the higher the level of criticism, while also getting the final verdict on the media. We saw Jesus get crucified every night in detail, although we are not aware of it. After decades of this, I think it is likely to be up with us someday. In other words, the grisly violence and evil that we see represented in the media can reach us in the coming real life.
Despite the widespread condemnation of the last paragraph, I'll turn around and a list of some movies. The ideal is to stay away. But the rewards will come all of us, whether or not we individually may or may not have seen. Meanwhile, maybe we can take the opportunity to study both the overt and subtle techniques employed.
The main genre to keep an eye on is science fiction. As Susan Sontag says in the sixties, this is the kind of doom and destruction mass. Generally, as the prototype of Frankenstein (1932), several attempts of man to take over the prerogatives of God (technically blasphemy) and reflects the madness and disaster. These parables are rigidly moral, where retribution is swift and sure.
Take, for example, René Clair Ray CRAZY (1923) of childhood industry. The elements that were to become commonplace with decades of continuous repetition and present. A mad scientist invents a machine that builds ray inside the Eiffel Tower, which makes the inhabitants of Paris into stone. An initially plane away from land-ray, and passengers are surprised when disembark. One of the principles of criticism is worth special attention to the message of the movie titles. In this example, the title could bring to mind such questions as: "The title means that the inventor was crazy? Or is that crazy lightning effects? Or is that crazy people ray, which implies that turn people to stone is drive you crazy? "
A similar theme is presented in the Village of the Damned (1960) and its sequel The Children of the Damned (1964) (What questions do these titles bring to mind?). This time a mysterious influence outside the seals an entire people, the perpetrators in this case alien invaders. Here, as in the Ray CRAZY, a geographic area is temporarily limited. The females are impregnated by aliens and then have children with eyes brilliant and mysterious powers. This aspect of the film echoes the story in the Book of Enoch, the fallen angels who descended to earth to mate with the female and teach forbidden arts.
Allow me a note of some salient features of the paranoid schizophrenia that describes, for example, Norman O. Brown, Geza Roheim and Victor Tausk. The patient believes that evil entities, as beings from other worlds are a secret conspiracy to harm him. The patient may believe that their enemies are using hardware such as projectors beam against him. It is subject to see hallucinations and hear voices trying to guide their actions against their will. In The next voice YOU HEAR (1950) normal radio broadcasts are interrupted by short periods each night, and the model seems to hear a message. This message seems to be more or less the Sermon on the Mount. Was this the voice of God? If not, what was it?
Another frequent theme in science fiction is the nomination of candidates (false) messiah. I say false, because we are just seeing actors playing a fictional role. A prototype of the real life of these characters, if you are not automatically therefore be a messiah. An example is The Man from Planet X (1951), which is an alien who is caught and earthly assistance needs.
EARTH DAY still standing (1951) (note the title) offers another false messiah. An alien comes down on a plate, interesting takes on the name of Mr. Carpenter, is killed and resurrected three days later, etc. For this movie, the extensive similarities were aware by some people in production and were taken from the novel in underlying the film.
IN THE BRAIN FROM PLANET Arous (1958) to an alien
has a scientist, who then embarks on a mad quest to rule the world. It's my all time favorite movie. He has the power to shoot planes from the sky with his eyes while lauging maniac. He does not exposions megaton weapons visible in his plan for world domination. It is also a sex demon. Ingmar Bergman's THE MAGICIAN (1958) presents a false Messiah and dyspeptic not a circus spectacle. The Messiah of Whistle Down The Wind (1962) (note the title) is mistaken for a fugitive when he found Jesus in his barn. When he was arrested and frisked, stretch arms to form a cross. THE FLIM FLAM MAN (1967) is an artist with children who live by their wits. CHARLY (1968) is a mentally retarded until a chemically transformed higher mind. In the ruling class (1971), the candidate is an apparent psychopath. The Omega Man (1971), a remake of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964), (note the title) offers another ersatz messiah. In Zardoz (1973), the messiah is a barbarian.
SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (2004) Villan is a man in his grave German named Toden Kopf (Death's Head). It has been stated that a new building Noah's ark. As so often, the Villa is the dark hero, because here Sky Captain actually destroys the ship! HOLOCAUST 2000 (1978) (note the prediction in the title) presents the spectacle of Kirk Douglas frantically running up and below the oil fields of the Middle East, proclaiming the ten horns, and so the Book of Revelation. The messiah of the last wave (1979) is a native witch doctor. Being there (1979), a simple gardener who can barely tie his boots and goes on to be named Mr. Gardiner struck the President as a sage. At the end of the film walking on water, because nobody has told him that this is impossible. A not very bright academic SIMON (1979) is persuaded to impersonate an astronaut. After a period brainwashing rigorous mental and physical conditioning, Simon comes to believe is actually an alien. Equipment is used to interrupt regular television broadcasts that regularly want to deliver messages. Similarly, in Riders of the Storm (1986), runners in a bomber interrupting TV broadcasts.
Woody Allen's ZELIG (1984) has a schizophrenic chameleon who allegedly rubbed shoulders with leading political figures of the thirties. In The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), also Woody Allen, a hero of the steps larger than life off-screen in a movie theater and the miserable life of a housewife from New Jersey. Let me make some rhetorical questions. Are we engaged in a version real life of children playing king of the mountain with a view to selecting the Messiah? In any case, once the Messiah is indeed recognized, then become a situation of "when the saints go marching in". In any country listed for the first time, the Messiah and a motley group of supporters walking in the capital and seize power. You say you want to be in that number? I suggest you think carefully on it. To the secular eye this will be a parade or Fool's Goon Squad made by Snake People (Marching Morons) – the humble "real then inherit the earth. I repeat – do you want to be in that number?
How can you oppose a handful of these people may have more than one capital important? Context is important here. Amos in the Old Testament prophesied correctly gnashing of teeth and tribulations that come with the Day Lord.
Western Civilization is about to officially end? Are we and our descendants to be almost exclusively to physical survival, staying alive? Do not go to watch the skies for Advent.
