How I can get an indication of my VHF radio when on a ship, do I need one?
I have just passed a certification exam RYA VHF short range, and are licensed by Ofcom obtainted, I have not seen anything about a call sign? Thanks
What we have just obtained their license is personal to operate a VHF radio. Ships are now required "radio license" for the vessel to carry a radio (also from Ofcom) and the ships will call at the time. The call sign is attached to the ship and not the operator. There may be a small charge to set up a radio station new ships, but there is no renewal charge. (For commercial vessels anyway)
