The proposal is an American romantic comedy directed by Anne Fletcher. The screenplay was written by Pete Chiarelli and starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. [3] The film was released on 18 June 2009, in the United Kingdom and June 19 in North America by Touchstone Pictures.
Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor in chief of a publisher of books, books Colden. All workers, including his assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds), strongly dislike for authoritarian behavior and cold. It fires a senior editor, Bob Spaulding (Aasif Mandvi) because he is unable to obtain an author named Frank interviewed by Oprah. After learning that is being deported to Canada, Andrew forces to marry her because their future is linked to it. When the government investigates, Mr. Gilbertson, (Denis O'Hare) informs them that they will undergo rigorous testing to prove that marriage is not fraudulent, having been notified by Bob Spaulding that this marriage could be a farce. Andrew reluctantly accepts the proposition of marrying Margaret, under the condition that it be promoted to senior editor and the manuscript is published. It also forces Margaret to propose very good to him kneeling in the streets of New York, and to allow him to tell their parents marry.
The two spend the weekend with her parents in Sitka, Alaska, in order to sell the lie, where he will attend the 90th birthday celebration of Andrew's grandmother (Gammy) (Betty White). Margaret is very receptive to Alaska, and is, also shocked to learn that Andrew's family owns the majority of businesses in Sitka. They attend a surprise party for them, where Andrew catches his ex-girlfriend, Gertrude "Gert" (Malin Akerman). After that is humiliated by his father, Joe Paxton (Craig T. Nelson), Andrew announced that he and Margaret married. They are forced to kiss, and do it with passion, showing the first signs of respect for others. Andrew is in Sitka for new phone Margaret, and she tries to get in touch with New York. Andrew attempts to halt the flight of Margaret, but can not do in time. However, Andrew runs to New York and occurs in the office before he confesses his love for Margaret before the whole office staff, who proposed marriage again as he "wants to date Margaret". They go to Mr. Gilbertson, once again to commit themselves, this time "real".
During the end credits, everyone including the family of Andrew Ramone and is being questioned by Mr. Gilbertson. And he intimated that Ramone is an illegal immigrant, while Kevin, the dog, not yet accustomed the presence of Margaret.
